tours and visits
We offer two types of tours of the farm. These are available on either the last Friday or Saturday of the month in the mornings. (This is a private residence and visits must be arranged and booked in advance.)
1) FARM TOUR
For those of you interested in seeing an off-grid farm, designed according to permaculture principles, with a focus on ecological restoration of a degraded landscape. The tour includes renewable energy systems, sustainable building ideas, water harvesting, agroforestry, food production and many other design features of an earth centred human habitat.
The tour and talk takes around 2hrs and we ask a donation of 10€ per person.
2) INTRODUCTION TO SYNTROPIC FARMING IN THE MEDITERRANEAN TOUR
In this session you will experience the syntropic farming systems here in a dryland context. We will introduce you to the principles, practices, species selection and implementation involved in creating an agro-ecosystem. It is a mini introduction to the method, with lots of time for questions and sharing.
This session takes around 3 hours and we ask a donation of 25€ per person. Teas and coffees included.
Please note that we are the only staff on the farm and all donations go towards the La Loma Viva Foundation to cover our time. All visits must be arranged in advance.
