Learning & Events
At La Loma Viva, our approach to learning is guided by a simple principle: think like a forest.
Forests are regenerative, relational and reciprocal by nature. They grow through diversity, cooperation and connection, responding continuously to changing conditions.
When we learn from living systems in this way, regeneration becomes participatory, emerging through resonance with nature.
Our workshops, farm tours and seasonal gatherings create spaces for exploration and embodied ways of knowing. Learning unfolds through presence on the land, shared inquiry and careful observation of the patterns and processes that sustain life.
Discovering the interconnected systems of life and exploring our participatory relationship with the living earth.
Workshops
Since 2015, we have hosted workshops and educational programmes with leading international practitioners in regenerative agriculture and permaculture.
From 2016 onwards, our work deepened into a focused exploration of syntropic agroforestry. As one of the early projects to pioneer syntropic farming in a Mediterranean climate and to host workshops in this biome, our learning has been shaped by long-term observation, hands-on practice and ongoing adaptation, rooted in the realities of the land itself.
Since 2023, our work has expanded through the co-founding of the TERRA Network, a collaborative learning platform bringing together experienced syntropic educators from around the world. Within this growing ecosystem, we continue to offer workshops grounded in years of collective knowledge and lived experience. Our intention, through TERRA, is to cultivate multi-layered learning pathways that support deep ecological understanding and the development of skilled practice.
We currently offer annual workshops in syntropic farming, including three-day “Introductory workshops” for those who are curious and wish to explore this inspiring practice and five-day “Foundational workshops” in collaboration with the TERRA Network, offering a deeper and more detailed learning pathway for those wishing to begin implementing syntropic principles in their own projects. These are usually held in spring and autumn, aligning with the rhythms of planting.
Throughout the year, we also offer other events and courses in ecological design, embodied ecology and regenerative living practices.
Please see our calendar for upcoming dates and details.
Guided Farm Tours
We welcome visits from those who feel drawn to the work unfolding at La Loma Viva. Guided farm tours are offered personally by us, as moments of embodied knowledge exchange, sharing years of lived practice and opening our home and land to visitors for inspiration. Tours take place by arrangement and offer an opportunity to meet, walk the land and explore regenerative practice as it is lived in context. They are offered as a paid exchange, supporting attentive, sustainable visits and the time given to hosting these encounters.
Regenerative Farm Tour
The farm tour is an opportunity to get to know the project — and the people behind it. We will explore the many elements of ecological design that have been developed here, the regenerative systems and how they function as an interconnected whole.
The tour includes our earthworks and water harvesting systems, renewable solar energy infrastructure, resource-conscious building approaches, kitchen gardens, agroforestry areas and wider productive spaces across the farm.
These visits offer a grounded insight into how it is possible to live with comfort, beauty and care while making earth-friendly choices and to experience regenerative practice as it is lived on the land.
For those wishing to explore ideas for their own properties, there is the option to book a private consulting session following the tour.
Syntropic Educational Tour
This tour offers a rare opportunity to experience and learn from one of the longest-running syntropic farming projects in a Mediterranean climate. It is designed for those seeking a deeper, more technical understanding of how syntropic agroforestry can be applied, adapted and sustained in this context.
You will learn how the practice has been refined over nearly a decade - how plant species and system design continue to be adapted to our climate and how our understanding of management practices has evolved. The tour explores productive crops, support species and functional relationships within the system, alongside practical insights into all aspects of syntropic farming in the Mediterranean.
Time is given for questions and learning, including the challenges, adaptations and successes encountered along the way, as we aim to grow towards syntropy. A general farm tour is included.
